3. How to Apply.
Look at the Department of Pharmacology's Research webpage and identify the research laboratory you are most interested in: www.pharmacology.unimelb.edu.au/research/research.html
When applications are open you will need to:
- Contact the laboratory head via email and state that you are interested in conducting a Vacation Research Scholarship. It is a good idea to attach a copy of your academic record at this stage.Don't take it personally if they say no as sometimes lab heads take extended periods of leave (especially over the summer) and are not available to supervise projects.
- If the laboratory head is willing to supervise you, they will set up a project and then advise you which of the funding bodies (click here), you might be eligible to apply to the funding organisations listed above (Summer Scholarships only).
- By the closing date (see above dates)submit an electronic application form by email to: fanoula@unimelb.edu.au and also submit a hard copy of this form with original signatures, current CV and your academic transcript to Pharmacology Reception, Level 8, Medical Building. NOTE: You may be able to apply directly to the funding bodies, but please let us know your intent and provide us with a hard copy of your application so that you can be considered for a Department Scholarship if unsuccessful with your application.
- SUMMER VACATION SCHOLARSHIPS: Closing dates available from the funding bodies listed above. Department scholarship - Applications close on 31 October, 2011.
